FINALLY!

They've restored ignore and /me commands. About freaking time! It seems that the room list loads faster, too. Unfortunately I still have trouble some time with it dropping characters when gay.com is running in IE, even in other programs.

Once again ...

... they go down, but no sign of getting the ignore feature back.

Planned OutageWe will be taking gay.com down on
November 25, 2008
from 5:00 am to 10:00 am Pacific Standard Time for
scheduled maintenance.

I notice that this time the notice isn't from Eric Wilson. I wonder if they finally sacked him?

More trouble

I just saw this post:

Notice: Some members are currently experiencing difficulties with Group Chat.We
are working on a solution. Thank you for your patience.

Why am I not surprised?

Scheduled? Maintenance

I don't recall them ever having to take the site down for maintenance with the old system? Maybe once a year?

I notice that they haven't taken it down to add capacity in a long time. But where are the improvements we've been promissed ... like the "ignore" feature???

A month later ...

... and the problems continue. They still haven't implemented the "ignore" feature.

At least they haven't taken the site down in a few days.

Why?

I just took a look at my "The last 50 members who viewed your profile" and there are 95 people listed.

They managed to quickly remove the notifications of people entering and leaving the room, so why can't they get "ignore" working again?

On another blog a fellow said that he asked gay.com for a refund because he wasn't getting the service that he paid for. Of course gay.com refused, so he contacted MasterCard who reversed the charge and told him that they'd had thousands of similar complaints. Rather than willingly give the refund and show that they understand they have problems, keeping "goodwill" and possibly encouraging the member to rejoin later, they instead turn him into an enemy and STILL lose the income.

These guys really need to watch "Give 'Em the Pickle" and learn a little Customer Service 101.
